Stay in the most beautiful hotels in Connemara, as you start the tour with a night in The Lodge at Ashford Castle, continue on to the lively town of Westport before getting to the serene Delphi Valley. You finish this short trip with 2 nights in Ballynahinch Castle Hotel. In the short space of 5 cycling days, you will see the most beautiful areas such as Cong Village and Ashford Castle, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden’s Sky Road, the Twelve Bens mountains and the beautiful Dog’s Bay beach.

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Dublin or Shannon Airport before transferring to The Lodge at Ashford Castle in the picturesque village of Cong. After a bike fitting and tour briefing, explore the historic Cong Abbey and the charming village, famously known as the filming location of The Quiet Man. Enjoy a gourmet dinner at Wilde’s Restaurant with serene views over Lough Corrib. The next day, cycle through Cong’s ancient forests and along the shores of Lough Mask before reaching the lively town of Westport. Continuing along the Wild Atlantic Way, you’ll ride through the breathtaking Doolough Valley before arriving at the luxurious Delphi Lodge, a secluded 19th-century retreat nestled in the heart of Connemara.

The journey continues with a scenic cycle around the Renvyle Peninsula, past the stunning Kylemore Abbey, and into the vibrant town of Clifden before reaching the magnificent Ballynahinch Castle. Here, you’ll spend two nights immersed in luxury, enjoying fine dining at the Owenmore Restaurant. A day of exploration takes you to the fishing village of Roundstone and the pristine white sands of Dog’s Bay Beach before returning to Ballynahinch. After a final morning in this idyllic setting, your adventure concludes with a transfer back to Dublin or Shannon Airport.

DAY 1 - Arrival - Cong (collection from airport)

Arrive at Dublin / Shannon Airport where you will be greeted and transferred to The Lodge at Ashford Castle in the charming village of Cong. We will meet you at your hotel for the tour briefing and bike fitting. The village of Cong is famously known as the filming location of The Quiet Man, starring Maureen O’Hara and John Wayne. Explore the historic Cong Abbey, founded in the 12th century, and the Monk’s House before unwinding for the evening. Your hotel for the night is The Lodge at Ashford Castle, where you’ll enjoy an unforgettable dining experience at Wilde’s Restaurant. Savor locally sourced, classically inspired dishes while soaking in the tranquil views over Lough Corrib.

DAY 2 - Cong – Westport

The day starts with a lovely cycle through the grounds of Cong Abbey, crossing the stone bridge and cycling through the forest. Enjoy beautiful views along the western shore of Lough Mask. Your destination today is the lively town of Westport, nestled on the west coast in County Mayo. This charming town offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, live music, and warm Irish hospitality.

DAY 3 - Westport - Delphi

Cycle along the Wild Atlantic way to Old Head Beach for beautiful views of the bay before turning south through the scenic Doolough Valley. Nestled in the heart of the Delphi Valley, Delphi Lodge is a stunning country house offering an unforgettable Irish retreat. Surrounded by the rugged beauty of Connemara, this historic 19th-century fishing lodge is perfect for those who appreciate luxury, nature, and tranquility.

DAY 4 - Delphi - Ballynahinch

After a hearty breakfast at Delphi Lodge, set off on a breathtaking cycling journey along the ruggedly beautiful Atlantic seaboard. Your route takes you around the stunning Renvyle Peninsula, past the iconic Kylemore Abbey, and into the vibrant town of Clifden, often referred to as the Capital of Connemara. Here, you can soak in the lively atmosphere and enjoy an authentic traditional Irish music session in one of its welcoming pubs. Continue your adventure to the magnificent Ballynahinch Castle, your home for the next two nights. Nestled within a 700-acre estate of woodland, rivers, and mountains, this historic castle offers the perfect blend of luxury and tranquility. In the evening, indulge in a memorable dining experience at the renowned Owenmore Restaurant, where floor-to-ceiling windows provide enchanting views of the serene Owenmore River. DAY 5 - Ballynahinch Loop

You will have the opportunity to visit the charming fishing village of Roundstone, a picture-perfect coastal town that has long been a haven for artists and writers. Stroll along its quaint harbour, where traditional Galway Hooker boats bob in the water, and explore its local craft shops, art galleries and seafood restaurants serving the freshest catch of the day. Just a short ride from Roundstone, is Dog’s Bay Beach, often regarded as one of Ireland’s most breathtaking and unspoiled beaches. With its pristine white sand—composed of tiny, crushed seashells rather than rock—and crystal-clear turquoise waters, Dog’s Bay could easily be mistaken for a tropical paradise. After a day of adventure, return to the luxurious Ballynahinch Castle, nestled in a stunning 700-acre estate of woodland, rivers, and mountains.

DAY 6 - Departure - Transfer to Airport

A great choice for guests seeking a faster, road-focused experience while exploring the west of Ireland.

Option 4: Trek Electric Bikes

We use the high quality, reliable E-bikes. These bikes are pedal assist meaning they travel a lot further when you push the pedal compared to a regular bike. Comfortable, strong and stable bikes combined with a quiet, powerful Bosch motor and a fully integrated high-capacity battery ensure many miles of care-free cycling. On a full charge they are good for 80km+.

This beautiful Castle Hotel has been home to the Martyn family of Galway before being owned by a Maharajah, and then becoming a hotel. The hotel owns the rights to the river and fly-fishing for salmon and sea-trout is very popular. It has won many awards for the cuisine, the service and is just simply stunning, yet still very relaxed.
