EXCELLENT Based on 83 reviews Julie L2024-10-25Verified Outstanding bike trip in Ireland with Green Marble Tours My girlfriends and I chose to do a self-guided bike trip in Ireland, and the best decision we made was to contact Green Marble Tours. Even with the time difference (we are in the United States), all of our numerous questions were responded to quickly; great suggestions were made, and ultimately the trip that Wilma suggested for us was the perfect trip! Matt at the bike shop was terrific when we came to be fitted for our e-bikes (which were amazing) and shown how to use them; Dave who transported us to our starting point, and provided all the instructions was really thorough and left us feeling confident; the hotels we stayed in along the route were clean, comfortable, and the staff was helpful. We highly recommend Green Marble Tours - they do self-guided trips, but also guided trips.Thank you Wilma and team for giving us such a great adventure! Bruce-Carol-M2024-09-22Verified Wonderful Trip My wife and I took a Green Marble Self-guided E-bike tour of Connemara in early September, 2024. From our first inquiry, Green Marble staff were very responsive and well organized. The materials provided and the accommodations were excellent. The bikes were sturdy Trek bikes with lots of battery capacity. We have done 7 or 8 self guided trips in Europe and Asia. The scenery of western Ireland and the friendliness of the people rank at or near the top of any of them. For the most part, we were on quiet but relatively narrow backroads. Drivers seemed accustomed to cyclists and were accommodating. There was the odd section of busier road where we exercized more caution. Overall, highly recommended. Karen L2024-09-11Verified Great Connemara Cycling Tour Wilma at Green Marble Tours planned a 6 day solo bike tour in Connemara for me. What a great trip it was! Really nice family run inns with wonderful breakfasts each morning. A list of pubs and restaurants for lunch and dinner. Luggage transfer with no glitches every day. A great bicycle. And the routes were wonderful. Not on busy roads but the scenic route each day along the rural roads. I have done over 20 bike tours in Europe but this was my first solo tour and it was wonderful. Thank you Wilma and Toni. I want to come back next year. I highly recommend Green Marble (aka West Ireland Cycling in Galway). Scott A2024-08-30Verified Great experience, highly recommended! My wife and I booked with Green Marble in August 2024 and couldn’t be happier. The e-bikes were top quality, well maintained, and in perfect condition. The range could easily handle every stage of our tour, even when we needed to use more power to handle some of the windy conditions.I’m not used to riding an e-bike and was constantly surprised at how much fun it is! It’s like being a kid again….Yvonne and John were very helpful and responsive with questions before the tour.Toni did a great job of getting us to the first night of accommodation, and gave us a very good briefing on what to expect on each day of the tour. The daily routes were very well thought out and documented. For example, our first day of riding started with a beautiful ride on some forest paths and very quiet roads. This was a perfect way to allow a couple of Canadians to get used to the bikes and to keeping to the left. They provided us with printed copies of maps, step by step directions, and highlights of each day of the tour. They also provided .gpx files for each stage. I would highly recommend using the .gpx files in conjunction with the paper copies. We used the Komoot app to read the .gpx files. It worked well. If we used low power mode on the phones we could navigate with Komoot all day and still have about 50% battery left at the end of the day. It’s also worth noting that the Bosch e-bike system has a port to plug in and charge your phone, although we didn’t try that. I would gladly give up a little bit of juice from the big bike battery if it allowed me to quickly navigate to a hot shower. I also bought a clamp on phone holder so I could see my phone and the turn by turn directions as I rode. One other item I would recommend is a mirror. I don’t ride without one in Canada and the Irish roads are much narrower in places and it’s nice to know if it’s a tractor, a tour bus, or Ford Fiesta you hear coming up behind you.Having said that there is a law in Ireland that requires drivers to leave 1.5 metres of space when passing a bike and overall they follow that law and are very considerate of bikes. We were very pleased with accommodations Green Marble provided. They were nicer than we’re used to when booking on our own. Five stars for that as well! Now that we’re off the tour we need to lower the bar a little. We loved our experience, and don’t think you can go wrong with Green Marble. Kathy2024-08-22Verified Wonderful self-guided tour of Connemara We had a wonderful experience with our bike trip in Ireland that was well planned and coordinated by Green Marble Tours. We did an 8-day self-guided tour of Connemara. Thanks to Wilma for her ongoing communication before the trip - she made sure all of our questions were answered and all details were worked out. She even changed the format from a group tour to a self-guided tour for us. She sent us maps of our daily routes and all of the hotel bookings. Thanks also to David who coordinated all of the logistics of getting us to our start location, moving our luggage from hotel to hotel and keeping in communication with us via What's App. We had perfect bikes for this journey which were provided by West Ireland Cycling (I chose an e-bike which was great for climbing hills and carrying packs, and my husband chose a road bike). All of the hotels were charming, with friendly staff and delicious breakfasts and (most) dinners provided. What a great way to see Ireland up close and personal! We would highly recommend Green Marble Tours. Ashley L2024-08-09Verified Wonderful family bike trip! We did a 6 day Family Connemara Adventure as a family of 4 (2 parents, 2 kids, 11 and 14 yo) and had a great time! The luggage transfers were seamless. All of the accommodations were great. We had separate rooms from our kids, but very close together. Communication ahead of time was great. They suggested we use What's Ap to communicate while we were in Ireland, which was very helpful. We brought a phone holder and downloaded the maps ahead of time, which was very helpful. I wish I had asked for a mirror on my bike (I have one at home, it helps with keeping track of the kids). I wish I had a reflective vest, but the blinking lights on the bikes were great. They also provided water proof panier bags, which were great. The views were unbelievably beautiful! Thank you, Green Marble! We spent 2 nights in Dublin getting un-jet lagged before taking a bus to Galway. We were also able to pick up a rental car in Galway after our tour and then tour to Dingle Peninsula and elsewhere. The buses from Clifden to Galway were very easy as well. Jill W2024-07-27Verified Adventure awaits It was a great trip. I did a week in western Ireland. It was gorgeous. Dress for the weather, and wear a reflective vest. Great communication ahead of time. They were very quick to respond to my many inquiries. The bike, routes, ands accommodations were good. I highly recommend using a phone app for navigation. And bring a phone holder for the bike—I did not, and my route was in a rural area, so I couldn’t buy one. Luggage transfers were seamless. I wish I were back there now. It was the best week of my 3 in Europe. Have fun Climber566315335002024-07-06Verified Local knowledge of western Ireland gives great value! Our group has been organizing our own bike tours in the U.S., Canada, and Europe for more than 20 years, so we were reluctant to sign up with a tour company. But the narrower roads, bigger hills, and greater numbers of tourists in western Ireland were logistically more challenging. We deliberately looked to a local company for its intimate knowledge of terrain, accommodations, and sites, and Green Marble (aka Western Ireland Cycling) satisfied our needs entirely with a custom-designed tour of 45-50 miles per day through Connemara, the Aran Islands, and the Burren. The routes were challenging but different each day, the accommodations (included) were first-rate, the suggested stops and sites were interesting and informative, and the support was superb. A special shout-out to David, the driver who oriented us to the routes and did much of the baggage transfer from one night's lodging to the next -- and who gave my wife (who was not riding) some orientation and site-seeing opportunities each day so that she too had a memorable holiday. All of our interactions were favorable, and we found the company to be very amenable to all our suggestions and requests. The price, which seemed high at first, was well worth it if you were to try to arrange for such first-rate accommodations on your own for the eight nights of our tour. Mary M2024-06-17Verified Jewels of Connemara 4 day My family and I just completed the Jewels of Connemara 4 day self guided tour. From start to finish, the experience was amazing. Yvonne readily answered all of our questions prior to the trip and everything was clearly mapped out for us and explained upon our arrival in Galway. The accommodations along the route were fantastic and we were even provided with restaurant recommendations for our picky eaters! Highly recommend and look forward to doing another trip in the future! Sylvie W2024-06-05Verified Best of the Wild Atlantic Way cycling tour I booked our 12 days cycling tour with Wilma and she was so helpful and very patient with my many questions. Just me and my sister and we had the best holiday. Everything was well organised and each guest house or bnb was perfect with a diverse breakfast included. We chose ebikes which allowed us to make many extra detours along the roads. The scenery was breathtaking and each town was unique and interesting. One highlight was the night we had on the Aran islands, such amazing history and natural beauty. We stopped at local pubs every nights for dinner and there was often irish music being played. David was also always on hand over the phone if we had a query and we stopped by the shop in Galway to meet up with Matt for more helpful advice. I highly recommend them for a professional cycling trip and will book again next time i go to Ireland. We went for the first 2 weeks of May and we only had one day of rain. We were the first cyclists on the roads at this time of year. Thanks again for a superb adventure.Cost of the 12 days tour with ebikes: €2160
